Explore Our Ranches
Partnerships that we’re proud of.
We are seeking ranches to lease from landowners who have ambitious conservation objectives and ensure excellent stewardship of their land. We offer owners the freedom to step away from the day-to-day operations while resting assured that their ranch is managed exceptionally well. Read more about it below, and please contact us to learn more about how our practices have improved their land.
Pajarito Ranch - Pandora, Texas
The ranch encompasses 5,300 acres of Texas-Tamaulipan Thorn-scrubland and Southern Post Oak Savanna. The ranch ranges from savannah to hard wood bottomland ecosystems. It has abundant pastures of native grasses including Little Bluestem, Side Oats Gramma, False-Rhodes Grass, Switchgrass and many more. Mesquites and typical South Texas brush species dominate the upper elevations and as the land slopes towards the seasonal Ecleto Creek one of the most intact riparian ecosystems in the area is loaded with Winged Elm Trees.
The ranch has an extensive permanent fencing and watering system perfectly suited for holistic planned grazing. Additionally, we utilize modular electric fencing and portable water systems to implement adaptive multi-paddock grazing systems. The ranch runs a mix of stocker cattle for growing and finishing grass-fed beef and a cow-calf herd. We are experimenting with a variety of breeds currently to determine which is optimal for the environment and yields exceptional grass-fed beef. Pajarito’s wildlife is managed by a lease hunting outfit primarily for white-tailed deer, Bobwhite quail and Rio Grande turkey. Grazing Lands is leading the effort to create additional revenue streams for the landowners including the monetization of ecosystem services such as carbon credits.
Pajarito Ranch is our model for a new future in South Texas and beyond. We are proud to partner with Josie and Frates Seeligson who are conservation-minded landowners and have a high ecological ethos.
